I-Box strengthens the area of ​​Marine Renewable Energies with the incorporation of a PhD

The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness through the National Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2013-2016, in the National Program for Promotion of Talent and its Employability in R& D&I, has granted I-Box for the recruitment of a PhD through the public funding named “Torres Quevedo”. This contract will have a duration of three years starting January 2017.

The PhD will develop a Feasibility Study of Implantation of Systems of Generation of Wave Energy in Port and Marine Infrastructures. The objectives are to carry out a detailed analysis of the possibilities of incorporating wave power generation systems into port structures, to evaluate the available wave energy potential in the selected ports and to propose a generic prototype system that allows integration into port or maritime infrastructures.

I-Box already received the support of regional funding from IVACE during the period 2014-2015 so to initiate the  ​​work area of Renewable Energies based on the Waves of the Sea. With this help, this area is consolidated, allowing us to broaden our knowledge and promote advisory services in the field of marine renewable energies.
